Here’s a detailed 2-day course outline tailored for young kids to introduce them to drones in a fun and engaging way:

Age: Between 8 - 16 years
Objective: To introduce children to the basics of drone technology, safety, and basic flying skills in an interactive and hands-on manner.

What you'll learn

Day 1: Learning About Drones

Session 1: Introduction to Drones (1 hour)

  • What are drones?
    • Definition and uses of drones in different industries (e.g., photography, delivery, rescue).
  • Types of Drones:
    • Mini drones, quadcopters, and fixed-wing drones (simple explanations).
  • Parts of a Drone:
    • Propellers, motors, battery, camera, remote controller.


Session 2: Safety First! (1 hour)  

  • Importance of Drone Safety:
    • Rules to follow while flying drones (height limits, avoiding crowded places, etc.).
  • Understanding Drone Laws in India:
    • Basic rules about drone flying in India.
  • Practical Demo:
    • Demonstration of pre-flight safety checks (e.g., inspecting propellers, battery levels).


Session 3: Hands-on Drone Assembly (1.5 hours)

  • Kids will assemble a small, kid-friendly drone (pre-purchased kits).
  • Explain the importance of each part during assembly.


Session 4: Basic Flight Controls (1.5 hours)

  • Understanding the remote control:
    • Throttle, pitch, yaw, and roll explained in simple terms.
  • Practice controlling a drone on a simulator or with toy drones indoors.

Day 2: Flying and Fun

Session 1: Practicing Flight (4 hour)

  • Outdoor practice in a safe, open space.
    • Basic manoeuvres like take-off, hovering, and landing.
  • Supervised practice with mini drones for each child.
  • Friendly competition to improve control and coordination.


Session 2: Wrapping Up (1 hour)

  • Quiz & Certificate:
    • Fun quiz to recap what they learned.
    • Certificate of completion awarded to each participant.
  • Feedback & Closing:
