Gurugram-Based Drone Delivery Company to Deliver Packages Around Delhi-NCR

The popularity of drones for delivering packages for e-commerce and quick commerce is increasing rapidly in India. The main reason for this is the increasing interest of the Indian population in online shopping. Nowadays, online shopping also involves perishables that should be delivered quickly to the doorstep of the customers. That is where delivery drones are coming in handy and making a big difference.

Residents of Delhi-NCR will soon have drones delivering their packages. Skye Air, a company using drones to deliver e-commerce and quick-commerce packages, is looking to expand operations to Delhi-NCR in 2025. The company currently delivers packages through drones in Gurugram and some parts of the Garden City, Bengaluru.

The company's CEO, Ankit Kumar, says, “The instant focus is on expanding operations multi-city. We will enter Gurugram and Bengaluru and expand to Delhi-NCR. We will look at going to Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and a few other locations in 2026.”

If the CEO's words are to be believed, the company will target high-density areas in Delhi-NCR, preferably 8-9 pin codes. Delhi's expansion will not be beyond the western and southern regions of the capital city. In Bengaluru, just one pin code is active. We plan to activate 4-5 pin codes in the next 90 days or so, and then look forward from there.”

In Gurugram, the company delivers in 70 societies in 28 pin codes.

Founded in 2020, the Gurugram-based company has onboarded 12 logistics partners, such as Shiprocket, DTDC, Blue Dart and Ecom Express and plans to onboard more in 2025.

The CEO said that the company will have 17-18 partners. The 12 current partners have a large customer base, so more scaling will be done with them, and a few more will be added. He also hinted that the company is looking to onboard quick-commerce companies.

Skye Air targets delivering 5 million packages with drones this year. The company said it delivered 1.2 million packages in 2024 and an average of 150,000 packages monthly in 2025.

Regarding the team size, Kumar said, “There are 95 people in the company, of which the operational personnel, including pilots and hub managers, are 55-60. By the end of this year, there will be a 1.5 times growth in headcount in the operations team.”

Skye Air's drones average 4 kgs and have a maximum payload capacity of 10 kgs.
